About Us
BetterPet Veterinary Urgent Care was founded to bridge the gap between your primary care veterinarian and full emergency services. As an after-hours, walk-in clinic, we provide compassionate, high-quality medical care for common dog and cat illnesses. We’re here for the “in-between” moments—when it isn’t quite an emergency, but you can’t wait for regular veterinary hours. Our goal is to serve as an extension of your family veterinary practice, offering a warm, trusted, and convenient urgent-care experience.
Our veterinarians are highly trained in emergency medicine and work closely together to support your pet through injury, illness, and recovery. We communicate thoroughly with your primary care veterinarian to ensure seamless, continuous care for your pet.
BetterPet belongs to a locally owned group of veterinary hospitals, including Veterinary Specialists of Hanover and Hanover Animal Hospital. Together, our three hospitals work closely to care for the pets and families of our local community, offering a safe, welcoming, and convenient space filled with people who love your pets and have the expertise to provide exceptional care.
What to Expect
When you arrive, we immediately check to make sure your pet is stable. One of our veterinarians will then examine your pet, discuss a diagnostic and treatment plan with you, and provide an estimate.
Our care team will then administer necessary tests and treatments, dispense medication(s) and send your pet home. We do not hospitalize. If required, we will assist with transfers to an emergency hospital.
We understand that a loved one’s illness or injury can cause undue stress for you as well as your pet. Throughout this process, we are committed to providing compassionate, exceptional care not only through high-quality medical attention for your pet, but also by being there for you. We will be available the entire time to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your pet’s condition and care.
